In H1 2023, container transshipment increased by 3.6% compared to H1 2022 and amounted to 2,405.1 thousand TEUs, including the number of loaded containers amounted to 1,797.7 thousand TEUs (+6.4%), of which refrigerated containers - 223.1 thousand TEUs (-10.3%), empty - 607.4 thousand TEUs (-3.9%).
The volume of container transhipment increased due to imports by 15.4% to 998.6 thousand TEUs and cabotage by 22.9% to 497.3 thousand TEUs.
At the same time, transshipment of export containers decreased by 12.4% to 854.0 thousand TEUs, and transit containers - by 27.1% to 55.2 thousand TEUs.

The share of transshipment of containers in the export direction was 35.5%, in the import direction — 41.5%, in cabotage — 20.7%, and in the transit direction 2.3%.
In exports, the transshipment of empty containers accounted for 43.5%, and in imports — 2.6%.

For the 1st half of 2023, the growth dynamics of container handling was noted in the ports: Vladivostok by 27.8%, Novorossiysk by 24.1%, Vostochny by 19.2%, Korsakov by 10.1%, Murmansk by 9.5% , Nakhodka in 4 times.
A decrease in container transshipment was observed in the ports: Big Port of St. Petersburg by 31.4%, Kaliningrad by 29.2%, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky by 10.5%, Magadan by 18.5%, Dudinka — by 15.2%, Arkhangelsk by 7.2%.

The volume of transshipment of cargo in containers in the seaports of Russia for the 1st half of 2023 increased by 3.6% compared to the 1st half of 2022 and amounted to 24.9 million tons. Including transshipment in the export direction amounted to 8.1 million tons ( -10.4%), in import - 12.0 mln t (+14.6%), in transit - 0.4 mln t (-30.0%) and in cabotage - 4.3 mln t (+12,4%).
The average weight of one loaded container (TEU) in H1 2023 was 13.9 tons, which is 0.3 tons less than in H1 2022.

In H1 of 2023, 413.05 million tons of cargo arrived at Russian seaports for shipment by sea, which is 10.1% more than in the same period last year, including 196.27 million tons (+16 .5%) of dry cargo, 216.78 million tons (+4.9%) of liquid cargo.
In H1 2023, 191.7 million tons (+3.6%) were delivered by rail to Russian seaports, 146.71 million tons (+10.6%) by pipeline, 42.88 million tons (+42.8%) by trucks, 25.38 million tons (+5.3%) by sea and 6.38 million tons (in 2 times) by inland water transport.
The main share of cargo delivered to seaports was carried out by rail — 46.4% and by pipeline — 35.5%. Road transport accounts for 10.4%, sea transport for 6.1% and river transport for 1.5%.

Delivery of goods to seaports for shipment by sea for H1 2023
According to the results of H1 2023, 38.19 million tons of cargo were dispatched from Russian seaports, which is 4.9% more than for the same period of last year, of which 25.11 million tons were dry cargo (+11.6%), bulk – 13.08 million tons (-6.0%).
In H1 2023, 13.34 million tons were exported from Russian seaports by road, which is 7.3% more than for H1 2022, by sea — 14.34 million tons (+2.9%), 9.4 million tons (+9.3%) were dispatched by rail, 1.02 million tons (-24.1%) by pipeline and 71 thousand tons (-15.9%) by inland water transport.
The main share of cargo shipped from seaports was carried out by sea — 37.6%, by road — 34.9% and by rail — 24.6%, pipeline and inland water transport accounted for 2.7% and 0.2%, respectively.
